Hello my name is Kelly Henkel and I live in Browns
Mills, NJ. I have been a chef for 14 years. I graduated from
Culinary school with a Chefs Certificate. I started my last semester as an
extern at an Upscale Country Club in central NJ, and when I left I was head
Pastry Chef. I am also trained in every aspect of the kitchen, as I
spent many years training in each department. I spent the latter part
of that time as a Chef de Tournade. I have also worked at a
local convention center, and helped a friend start a small Ethnic Bakery.
I did all the cakes and desserts for them, while they did all the specialty
breads. I then went on to teach Adult Education for a few years, and learned
that I loved to teach! I get such pleasure when a student comes in and
tells me that they made something at home that they never would have tried
to before. People learned to love food as I do!
I decided to leave the restaurant world and break out
on my own, as I now have 2 children, and this allows me to adapt my schedule
to theirs. I love to cook and bake, but most of all I enjoy seeing the
joy that those two things bring to people.
